We built our own rental floor in Dehradun in 2025 after years of shooting in rooms that looked great in photos and fought us all day. If you are booking a studio here — ours or anyone's — walk in with this list. It takes ten minutes and saves entire shoot days.

Ceiling height decides your light, not your camera
Under nine feet, you cannot get a soft source above the subject without it entering frame. Ten to twelve feet is where beauty lighting, hair light and clean full-length fashion frames become easy.
Ask for the height at the lowest beam, not the highest point. Beams and fan hooks are where boom mics and C-stands go to die.
02 / 06
Power, and what happens when it goes
Ask three numbers: sanctioned load, number of independent 16A points, and inverter or generator changeover time. Doon still drops power mid-afternoon in summer.
A studio with a UPS on the recording chain means a podcast session survives a cut without losing the take. Without it, you lose the last twenty minutes of a conversation you cannot recreate.

Listen to the room before you look at it
Stand in the middle, clap once. If it rings, every interview shot there will need work in post. Then stay silent for thirty seconds and count what you can hear: traffic, a generator, a wedding hall, an AC hum, birds on the roof.
Ask specifically whether the AC can run during takes. Many small studios in Dehradun require you to switch it off, which is fine in December and brutal in June.
04 / 06
Cyclorama, floor and the wall you will actually use
A curved white cyc with a seamless floor sweep is worth more than three painted backdrops. Check for scuff repair, whether repainting is charged to you, and if the floor takes a rolling dolly without bumps.
For product work, ask about a blackout option. A room you cannot make fully dark cannot do controlled tabletop lighting.
05 / 06
Logistics people only think about at 8 a.m.
Lift or stairs, and can a 1.2m light case get up them. Parking for a tempo. A room where talent can change. Clean washrooms. Somewhere to put twelve people's lunch. Wi-Fi that can push a 40GB upload overnight.
Load-in time matters too: if your slot starts at 9 a.m. and the crew cannot enter until 9 a.m., you have booked a shorter day than you think.

Read the rate card like a contract
Confirm what a 'day' means in hours, the overtime rate per hour, whether lights and grip are included or billed separately, the deposit and reschedule policy, and who pays for damage.
Also ask if the space is exclusive for your slot. Sharing a floor with another booking is the fastest way to lose control of sound and time.
/ FAQ
Quick answers
Do you rent your Dehradun studio to other creators?
Yes — our Dehradun floor is available on hourly and full-day rental for photo, video and podcast sessions, with or without our crew.
Is lighting and grip included in the studio rate?
A standard lighting kit, stands and modifiers are included in our full-day rate. Speciality lenses, cine lights and a drone pilot are quoted as add-ons.
Can you do a podcast and a photoshoot on the same booking?
Yes. A multi-camera podcast set and a product tabletop can share one day if we plan the changeover in the schedule.
