When we started recording podcasts in Dehradun two years ago, we used a living room with blankets on the wall. Today we run a dedicated multi-cam podcast room on Rajpur Road — here's exactly how it's built and what it costs.

Acoustics: the part nobody Instagrams
We measured RT60 across the room before buying a single panel. Targeted treatment: bass traps in two corners, broadband absorbers behind the host position, and slatted wood diffusers on the rear wall to keep the room alive but controlled. Result: a clean, intimate sound that needs almost no post EQ.
The wrong move for most home podcasters is over-absorbing — a totally dead room sounds tiring after ten minutes. We aimed for an RT60 of ~0.3s across speech frequencies, which is where warmth and clarity coexist.

Mics, cameras, switcher
Four Shure SM7B mics on Triton booms, into a Rodecaster Pro II. Three Sony FX30s on locked-off and slider positions, fed into an ATEM Mini Extreme for live multi-cam switching. We export a clean master plus per-camera ISOs so the edit is flexible.
The SM7B is our default because it forgives untrained voices, rejects room noise and pairs beautifully with the Rodecaster's onboard compression. Founders sound like themselves — not like they're reading a teleprompter.

Lighting and set design
Two Aputure 300X keys through 4-ft softboxes, a Nanlite Pavotube practical for accent, and a controllable RGB wash on the back wall. Everything on dimmer control so we can shift from 'founder cinematic' to 'business interview neutral' in a minute.
The set is intentionally warm — walnut panels, a leather two-seater, a stone side table. It reads well on YouTube thumbnails without screaming 'set'. Guests relax faster in a room that looks lived in.

The recording day, hour by hour
T–60 min: mic checks, camera focus, key light metered. T–15 min: guest brief and water refills. T–0: rolling. We record 45–75 minute conversations with a hard break every hour for water and playback checks.
Every session is backed up in triplicate before the guest leaves — SD card, on-set SSD, and cloud upload to our post pipeline. Losing a session because of one corrupt card is a rookie mistake we made once, in 2023.

What it costs to book
Half-day (4 hours): ₹15,000 — studio + 1 engineer. Full-day (8 hours): ₹25,000 — studio + engineer + a second camera op. Edited, captioned, social-ready episode delivery is an additional ₹8,000–₹15,000 per episode depending on length and clip volume.
Founders and agencies who run a season with us (8–12 episodes) get a batch rate — the equivalent of one episode free plus a locked-in colour and audio treatment across the series.
/ FAQ
Quick answers
Can I book the studio without your production team?
Yes — the room is available as a self-op booking if you bring your own engineer, or full-service with our team. Most first-time podcasters choose full-service for the first two episodes and switch to self-op after.
Do you deliver episodes edited for YouTube and Spotify?
Yes. Every full-service booking ships a long-form YouTube master, a Spotify-ready audio master, 3–5 vertical clips for Reels/Shorts, and captions in SRT and burned-in formats.
How far ahead should I book?
Peak season (October–February) books out four weeks ahead. Off-season, we can usually accommodate a session with 5–7 days notice.
